1) What is the average age of your clientele?
We get guests ranging in age from 20-70. Since we don’t
screen guests (e.g., ask their ages when they make a reservation)
it’s impossible to predict the age range of guests for any specific
time. However, we do openly and proudly welcome older gay men,
so many of our guests are over 30. If there is one thing that
our clientele has in common, it is that they are looking for clean,
well-appointed rooms, an open environment to be themselves, good
service and a friendly “no-attitude” atmosphere.
2) Do you cater mostly to singles or couples?
On average, we usually have a 50/50 mix of singles and couples.
Keep in mind that some guys who are single are “unavailable” and
some couples are “just friends” sharing a room. We do our best
to make everyone feel comfortable — from creating an environment
where guys can meet each other easily to helping to protect those
that want privacy and solitude.
3) Does “clothing optional” mean I have to go nude?
Not at all — it is simply an option for you. Since our
property is entirely enclosed, nudity is welcome anywhere and
anytime, without restrictions. It’s a great question if going
nude is an important part of your vacation experience. Some
places advertise “clothing optional” but include restrictions — such
as no nudity by the pool or nudity only allowed at night.
4) How many of your guests go nude?
Some guests like to stay nude all the time, some like to sun with
suits on but swim nude, and some don’t like to go nude at all.
The number of guests who are nude varies on the make-up of the
guests and their level of comfort. By the way, if nudity is
new to you, some guys equate nudity with open sexual availability,
and that’s not necessarily the case. Some guys do get naked to
display themselves as an open invitation, while others just want to
enjoy the pleasure of laying naked in the sun.
5) Is your place highly sexual?
If “getting laid” is your first priority, we probably aren’t the
place for you. Sometimes guys hook up, sometimes they
don’t. In general, while guests are free to do whatever they
want, things are fairly subdued during the day. Guys hang out
by the pool, talk with other guests, go shopping or sightseeing.
If what you most want for your vacation experience is a clean,
well-appointed room, a friendly relaxed atmosphere, great location
and a dedication to exceptional service — and if you happen to get
laid that just adds to the fun — then Chestnutz is ideal for you.
6) How far are you from the bars, restaurants and the downtown
area?
Palm Canyon Drive is the “main” street of the city, and we’re one
block away, located on the south end of town in a small cluster of
gay resorts. Palm Springs is a very small city — most
everything is within walking distance. You’ll find restaurants and
bars easy to reach.
7) Will I need to rent a car?
That depends on what type of vacation experience most appeals to
you. If you are the sort of person who most wants to lay out
by the pool and occasionally go off property for lunch or dinner,
then a car isn’t necessary. You can get to most places by
walking or taking cabs. If you are the sort of person who
wants to explore the area, go sightseeing, and have the freedom of
going where you want when you want, then renting a car is a good
idea.
8) Do your rooms have ocean views?
That’s Palm Beach, honey. This is Palm Springs.
