Pets at Chestnutz
As pet owners ourselves, we appreciate animals enormously and
welcome the enjoyment they bring. However, our first priority must
be to the comfort of our human guests, both current and future.
We've never had a problem with a bad pet, only irresponsible owners.
If your pet responds to unusual noises or environments by barking,
chewing, or destroying property, please board it elsewhere.
Crate or "travel trained" pets are very welcome.
We have designated two rooms (one standard room, one superior
room) as “pet friendly.” The standard room is ideal for
smaller pets, the superior room (with an enclosed patio) is ideal
for larger animals. You must notify us in advance if you are
bringing a pet to ensure those rooms are available. The
following rules apply for your pet during your stay:
Dogs must be kept on a leash at all times outside of the
rooms and can not roam the property unattended. Dogs are only
allowed in the pool area when leashed.
Dogs must be walked off the property
If the behavior of your pet(s) creates a nuisance for guests
and your are not able to bring the animal under control, you
will be required to make other arrangements for your pet.
If the behavior of your pet(s) creates a nuisance for guests
and you are not present on the property to control your animal(s),
the owners of Chestnutz are authorized to have the animal
removed from the property.
You are held financially responsible for any and all damage
and excess cleaning charges your pet(s) may cause to
furnishings, bedding, and other room amenities during your stay.
Sorry, but we don't accept pets for one-night-only stays.
There is a one-time $35 per pet charge to cover the additional
cleaning costs associated with having a pet in the room. In
addition, you agree to reimburse Chestnutz for any damage or excess
cleaning charges your pet may cause to furnishings, bedding and
other room amenities during your stay, including guest complaints
resulting in loss of revenue. If pet damage is discovered after you
leave, we are authorized to bill your credit card for any and all
damages

A Sad Note

"Dogs lives are short, too short, but you know that going in. You
know the pain is coming, you're going to lose a dog, and there's going
to be great anguish, so you live fully in the moment with her, never
fail to share her joy or delight in her innocence, because you can't
support the illusion that a dog can be your lifelong companion.
There's such beauty in the hard honesty of that, in accepting and giving
love while always aware it comes with an unbearable price. Maybe
loving dogs is a way we do penance for all the other illusions we allow
ourselves and for the mistakes we make because of those illusions." --- Dean Koontz, The Darkest Evening of the Year
